I have fine, damaged hair and it’s a constant battle to find a shampoo and conditioner that strikes a balance between working with my hair and being cost-effective — a battle I’m sure many of you are familiar with. I received some Clear Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner to try and found it to be a pleasant surprise. With affordable shampoos and conditioners ($10 and below) I find that the shampoo tends to dry out my hair and the conditioner never puts enough moisture back in. Not so with Clear! The formula I received was for “Damage and Colour Repair” and it certainly does it’s job. I’ve nearly used the whole bottle and after trialling it for months, I can safely say I’ve found a new shower staple.
Before this my go-to product was Indola’s Innova Repair range, but at $30 for significantly less product the cost was difficult to sustain on my tight budget. I find that Clear nourishes and moisturises my hair just as well as Indola and it has now completely replaced Indola in my daily shower — for a fraction of the cost. My hair feels clean and lightweight, which allows my curls to bounce up, but not so light that I get fly-aways and frizz. There is more shine, my ends no longer feel as frazzled and my scalp feels moisturised without being greasy.
With many “damage repair” conditioners I find that they tend to use proteins like keratin to give your hair an immediate boost, but build-up of these proteins over time makes my hair feel worse with each use — more and more brittle until I have to discontinue use. But as I’ve said, I’m just reaching the end of the bottle and I have yet to experience any negative effects; only lovely, soft hair. I can only speak for my own experience with my fine, colour damaged hair, so I can’t speak for other hair types, and what works for me may not work for you. However, I would definitely recommend you get onto the Clear hair care range! They have a few other formulas suited for every day use, intensive therapy and dry scalps and for the price you can’t miss giving it a go.
Clear Scalp & Hair products are available in Australia from Priceline, Woolworths, Coles and more for around $6-$10. You can find more information on Clear Scalp and Hair’s website.
