Hi lovelies! I picked up this little beauty from Priceline just recently and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I find Australis products to be pretty impressive for the price range, and when I laid eyes on their mineral liquid highlighters I fell in love! At first glance the two different shades are perfect dupes for Benefit’s High Beam and Sun Beam illuminators. I chose the lighter, pale pink shade “Pearl” because I’m super pale at the moment and the golden one would be too dark for me. I think this is absolutely brilliant and would definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re in the market for a less-pricey version of Benefit’s highlighters!
The consistency of this highlighter is somewhere between a liquid and a cream: it has a nifty pump dispenser and doesn’t change shape or run like a liquid, but it’s thinner than a cream and blends really nicely. It’s different in this way from Benefit’s highlighter as High Beam is quite thin. A problem I have with a lot of cheaper highlighters is that they tend to look too shimmery or glittery and it looks unnatural and ridiculous. I was pleasantly surprised with the formula of this though, the shimmer particles are extremely fine and the finish is quite subtle, giving a ‘lit-from-within’ kind of natural glow. This can be applied directly onto the high points of the face (cheekbones, cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, brow bone and forehead) or mixed into your foundation for a glowing, dewy finish. This is perfect for strobing, by the way! I love the pump applicator it comes with but be warned, you do NOT need a full pump! A little goes a very long way and a full pump dispenses a ridiculous amount (see pictures above, I had no idea what to do with all this on my hand haha) I was worried that this would be too pink for my yellow-toned pale skin but it looks really natural and I think it would work with any lighter skin tone. For tanned to darker skin tones there is a Golden Lights version available that looks gorgeous! This Mineral Face Highlighter is available from Priceline stores in Australia for $14.95 and it’s definitely worth the buy.
