Hi my lovelies, I’m back today with a review for one of the brushes from my Sam Chapman’s Real Techniques Collection:  The Blush Brush.

real techniques blush brush review

You can see from my photo that my bristles have been slightly stained (sad face). I couldn’t tell you which of my blushes or pigments caused this, or if anyone else’s Blush Brush has been stained like this, but I think if I attack it with my baby oil and baby shampoo I might be able to lift the colour. Besides this unfortunate blemish, this is one of my favourite staple brushes!

I’ve never had the spare cash to throw away on $70 individual brushes, but of all the brands I’ve tried, I’ve been pretty impressed with Sam Chapman’s collection, especially for the price. Each brush has a soft matte rubber-esque(?) material on the end, fashioned into a self-standing shape so you can rest it upright on your workspace. It’s a really comfortable grip compared to your usual wooden handle. They have long aluminum ferrules that are super light and colour-coded according to what the brush is generally used for. As for the bristles themselves, each brush is soft and velvety and luxurious on your skin!

The Blush Brush is definitely one of my favourite from the collection. Slightly tulip-shaped and soft as a feather, this blends blush perfectly and I also love it for kicking off any excess powder on my face as it’s not too dense or heavy. It’s not the best for holding lots of product so it’s better for well-pigmented blushes and light dustings of finishing powder. I also use this to blend out sloppily-applied contouring without rubbing all the product right off my face.

I would definitely recommend this brush, I use it everyday in my makeup routine and I am planning to buy another when I next get on iherb for the limited edition Duo Fibre Collection. It’s only $8.99 AUD on iherb.com and I would definitely recommend buying it from there if you’re in Australia as it costs at least double at Priceline, the only store you can buy it from here!

Do you own any Real Techniques brushes, and do you love them as much as I do? Stay tuned for reviews on the rest of my collection!
